The former Enugu State governor and Senator representing Enugu East, Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani, has restated his preference for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, to become the next president of Nigeria, noting that his choice is not for personal reasons, but for mainstreaming the South East into Nigeria’s politics.

Nnamani restated his support, in his country home, Agbani, when he hosted members of the Tinubu Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), on Monday.

Some of the APC PCC members that visited the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senator were former Senate President, Ken Nnamani; APC PCC Spokesman in the South East, Dr. Josef Onoh; Chief Onyemuche Nnamani, Adolphus Udeh, among others.

Nnamani, while addressing his guests, stated that Tinubu would be elected the next president of Nigeria next year. He stressed that Tinubu possesses the right qualities to lead and unite the country.

On his own part, ex- Senate President, Ken Nnamani, restated his own commitment to Tinubu’s presidential bid, stating that it is for national interest.

He thanked the ex-governor for his preference.

Spokesman of the PCC in South East, Onoh, observed that Chimaroke Nnamani has remained consistent in abiding by the Asaba, Enugu and Lagos accord of the Southern governors that the next president should come from the South after the North’s eight years in power.

Onoh said: “I thank Nnamani for standing by that principle, and his commitment towards ensuring that Tinubu emerges the next president of Nigeria. I have made it clear that time has come not just for renewed hope for Nigeria, but for our future generation.

“Tinubu, as a father, has come to a point where he said that what he wants to offer is a better foundation for the country, and I’m with him in that course.”

He also commended the commitment Ken Nnamani has made to ensure that Tinubu is elected president of Nigeria. He added: “Your commitment to project Nigeria has renewed hope of the Southeasterners’ reintegration, and your politics without sentiment is a guide to our people.”

He lauded both Ken Nnamani and Chimaroke Nnamani and reaffirmed Tinubu’s respect for them, saying he would never take their bond and friendship for granted.
