AT the last count, almost 85 exhibitors from 14 countries have indicated interested in participate in the launch of Nigeria’s international Building and Construction Exhibition – AfricaBuild set to hold in Lagos this month.

The event, which is set to hold from February 16 and 18t, at the Landmark Centre, Lagos, is intended to stimulate international investment into Nigerian construction industry and expose international players to myriad of opportunities within the sector.

Also, the show will display latest machinery and technology, building equipment and tools, building and interior finishing materials in the building industry.

“It is incredibly exciting that for a launch event we have secured such a high number and diverse selection of international brands, which indicate a positive outlook for the future of the show.

“More than 85 exhibitors from 14 countries will display all of the latest in construction machinery and technology, building equipment and tools, building materials and interior finishing materials. The exhibitors are from Austria, China, France, Germany, Ghana, Italy, Nigeria, Poland, Spain, South Africa, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates”, the organisers, ITE Group and Fairtrade have said.

Justifying the reasons for the show, the organisers said Nigeria’s GDP hit $569 billion in 2014, making it the largest economy in Africa and that the West African state enjoys healthy growth to the tune of five to six per cent annually, which means the future is brighter.

TWO: They said the country’s construction industry is amongst the world’s most enticing, being the second largest employer and over last half decade has enjoyed growth rate of nine and half per cent. “With significant investment into mega-projects, the construction industry continues to boom.
