The FCMB Staff Cooperative has signed a multi-billion-naira partnership with Footy Homes and Properties for the development of 250 four-bedroom duplexes in Ibadan, in a project aimed at expanding homeownership opportunities for members of the cooperative.

The agreement, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding, will see the homes developed at Naveeda Park and Gardens along the Toll Gate corridor of Ibadan. Construction is expected to be completed within 18 months, with delivery taking place in phases.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, a representative of the FCMB Staff Cooperative said the decision to partner Footy Homes was based on confidence in the company’s ability to deliver the project to the required standard.

“In projects of this magnitude, trust is everything,” he said, adding that accountability, professionalism and transparency would remain central throughout the execution of the development.

He noted that the cooperative places significant emphasis on delivery when selecting project partners and disclosed that developers who successfully complete projects are often considered for long-term facility management because of their familiarity with the infrastructure.

According to him, Footy Homes will receive priority consideration for managing the estate after completion, subject to the successful delivery of the project in line with agreed specifications.

Chairman of Footy Homes and Properties, Dr Olamuyiwa Abdulazeez, described the partnership as a vote of confidence in the company’s track record and commitment to quality.

“We recognise the trust the FCMB Staff Cooperative has placed in us. Our responsibility is not simply to construct buildings but to deliver a development that meets the expectations of the cooperative and every subscriber who will eventually call this estate home,” he said.

Abdulazeez said the company would deliver the project within the agreed timeline without compromising construction quality, engineering standards or infrastructure development.

He added that Footy Homes intends to build a fully serviced residential community with quality road networks, security systems and supporting infrastructure designed to improve residents’ quality of life.

The development is expected to strengthen the cooperative’s housing programme while reinforcing Footy Homes’ position in Nigeria’s growing institutional real estate market, where demand for professionally managed residential projects continues to increase.
