Osinbajo, others for Archibuilt expo in Abuja

The Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, and other eminent personalities are billed to attend the 30th edition of Archibuilt exhibition being organised by the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA).The exhibition, an annual event, will hold between Wednesday, August 28 and Saturday, August 31 at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.

The event, which promises to further lift architecture and the polity, has Driving Nigerian Architecture through Technology, as its theme.According to the organiser of the event, Archibuilt has continued to bring to the fore trends, technologies, systems, and policy issues that impact the building industrys intervention and responses to everyday living.

Originally midwifed and driven by NIA, Archibuilt was registered as corporate venture under Archibuilt Development Services Limited (ADSL) and has been trading as such since 2012.

The Chairman, ADSL, Jimoh Faworaja, said, Archibuilt 2019 exposition is a forum that aims to give participants and organisers alike great tool for direct communication and value exchange between architects, consultants, contractors, developers and consumers in the built environment and an effective method for promotion and growth of architectural, engineering and design brands.”

Faworaja, former NIA president added that, the August event is poised to showcase how professionals, indigenous manufacturers, retailers, and regulators are leveraging the use of innovative technology to tackle the challenges in this constantly evolving and growing building, development and construction sector bringing global standards and practices to Nigeria.

Participants are expected to engage in trainings, workshops and comprehensive discussions on issues like affordable housing, building technology, building maintenance, facility management, construction safety and hazards, how to use building technology to promote Nigeria architecture among others.

There is also a students design competition, which has generated some remarkable submissions on Design of Affordable Modular Building from a Studio Apartment Concept to a three bedroom bungalow.

Also, part of the program schedule features an array of interactive discussions and brainstorming sessions on building collapse, construction and Finance, and eco-friendliness sustainable housing development regulations in the building industry.
