Apparently to shore up its revenue base, ensure effective and efficient management of landed properties, one the nation’s frontline development firms, WEMABOD Estates Limited has signed a partnership agreement for the development of a retail facility in Surulere, Lagos.

The agreement between the company and Messrs Media Infrastructure Development will see to the construction of a modern shopping mall to be known as The Super Mall. The joint venture agreement was signed by WEMABOD Managing Director, Mr. Oluyemi Ejidiran and Chairman, Board of Directors, Dunni Opayemi, while Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Olumide Akansanya and Chief Operating Officer, Olawunmi Sadiku, represented Median Infrastructure Development.

The project is proposed to be a six-floor mall with two entrance/exit points and a delivery access. The building has been oriented to enhance visibility from a far distance along Akerele Street. The car park has been sited to the front and side of the property to create an ambience of space.

The utilities include power, water and waste management functions, which have been positioned on the periphery of the site to minimise their impact on the final users of the mall.

Other facilities include co-working spaces, cinemas, gyms/Sport clubs, food court (Restaurants and Eateries), roof top lounges/clubs, fashion and electronic stores. The Super Mall will be completed before the end of 2023.

Ejidiran said the real estate development space in Nigeria has taken serious dimension due to lack of first grade retail developments in the country. According to him, “the proposed shopping complex portends a good opportunity for residents in Surulere area to be able to have retail, entertainment activities in a decent environment.”

In a related development, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Ikoyi Crescent project christened Address Homes WEMABOD Estate took place at the construction site on Ikoyi Crescent last week.

The property comprises two non-contiguous plots of land located at the roundabout, which serves as the meeting point of Gerrard Road and Ikoyi Crescent, off Alfred Rewane (formerly Kingsway) Road, Ikoyi, Lagos. The apartments will be delivered by December 2022.

Address Homes consists of 18 units of luxury apartments, comprising ten units of four-bedroom terrace houses (each with one maid’s apartment); four units of five-bedroom (each with additional two maid’s apartments) semi-detached buildings and four units of five-bedroom (each also with additional two maid’s apartments) fully-detached buildings.
