. Niger State – Also known as the The Power State of Nigeria located in the North Central of the country is popular for its beautiful and spectacular Gurara Waterfall which spans 200 meters across with approximately 30 metres height. It lies in the Gurara River along the Suleja -Minna road. Gurara Waterfall changes its shape from a calm graceful waterfall in the dry season to a vast thundering fall in the rainy season.
. Borno State – Known as Home Of Peace. This state is popular for its large deposits of mineral resources which is a major source of fresh water fish in Nigeria as it houses part of the lake-chad.
One of its many natural resources is the Gwoza Hills in Borno state which forms a natural barrier between Nigeria and the Republic of Cameroon with a scenic beautiful height of about 1300 meters above the sea level. The hills are made up of diverse mountains called the ‘Mandara Mountains’. The mountains rise to more than 3,500 feet above sea level.

Osun State – Also known as the State of the Living Spring, is popular for its awe cascade waterfalls; the Erin Ijesha Waterfalls, also known as the Olumirin waterfalls which is a captivating nature wonder, and sacred destination in Nigeria for hiking, camping, etc. The whispering cold and body refreshing waterfalls is a beautiful tourist attraction located in Oriade local government in Erin-Ijesha Osun State. The waterfall was said to be discovered by one of the daughters of Oduduwa in1140 AD.
. Enugu State – With its Milken Hills which is located at Ngwo in Enugu North Local government area, offers aesthetic standpoint tourist attraction for a panoramic view of the Coal City of Nigeria.
. Cross River – The People’s Paradise comes with one of the most beautiful and breathtaking natural landmark in the world ‘Obudu Plateau’ also known as ‘The Obudu Holy Mountain’, an exotic towers of over 5,200 feet above sea level with a sub-temperature climate between 15C – 23C located in the Obanliku local government area of Cross River State, southeast Nigeria. The Mountain was said to have been discovered by missionaries, and became a place where people went to pray which is why it is called The Holy Mountain. The holy mountain was also a hideout for locals during the civil war.
Delta State– Also known as ‘The Big Heart’ comes with the ‘Kwale Game Reserve’ situated in the low coastal zone of Delta State. This reserve is characterised by rainforest vegetation and deltaic swamps rich in reptile and water associated animals which includes freshwater fish species, brackish, red river hog etc. (To be continued next weekend)
