It was a week of magic as the African Fashion Week Nigeria 2016 showcase came to a close with top of the line designers showing their latest collections at the gala night on closing day. The first two days played host to a couple of upcoming designers who showcased their designs as well as panel discussions, conferences and exhibitions.

The gala show kicked off with Modela Couture, a veteran fashion designer, showcasing his latest works, after which Rois and Reine took to the runway to showcase their latest in men’s wear. Ade Bakare Couture headlined the show while other designers on the runway included Yomi Casual, Trish O Couture, Lanre Lagos Couture, Mcstell, Bello Edu, Pacciro, Yemi Alade’s House of Tangerine amongst a host of others. Yemi Alade did not just only debut her clothing line, she was also the face of this year’s edition and performed her hit songs to the delight of the crowd present.

image-6+Tiannah Styling and Elegante Kids closed the show with show stopping and innovative designs. The event was not wont of celebrities either as they stormed the elite event in large numbers. Celebrity sightings included Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, Senator Florence Ita-Giwa, Monalisa Chinda, Uti Nwachukwu, Bryan Okwara, LAX, Annie Idibia, Kaffy, Denrele Edun, Emmanuel Ikubese, Zaina and a host of others. Nwachukwu and Okwara strutted the runway for Yomi Casual.

A true celebration of African culture, most designers brought the fabrics to life in breath- taking designs that left the audience in awe. Kaylah Oniwo and Layole Oyatogun were the anchors for the show.
