Best of Nollywood Award secures 2020 host

Even when they are still preparing for the 2019 edition scheduled for Kano, organisers of the Best of Nollywood Awards (BON) have announced that the government of Ekiti State has agreed to host the 2020 edition of the yearly industry event that is aimed at honourng outstanding achievement in the Nigerian movie industry.

Chief Executive Officer of BON Awards, Seun Oloketuyi who made the disclosure stated that he has received assurances that the “people of Ekiti would be opening their doors to the popular players in the Nigerian movie industry in 2020.”

Oloketuyi also said “Ekiti Government under Governor Fayemi has made the state a destination for entertainment. We can categorically state that the efforts of the governor in terms of changing the narratives about the state yielding great results and BON awards are excited to bring the whole Nigeria, through the Nollywood industry, to experience his great strides.’’

Founded in 2009, the award ceremony has, so far, been held in nine states across Nigeria including Abia and Rivers states. Lagos State hosted the first edition. Already, nominations have been announced and notable actors like Ramsey Noah and Omowunmi Dada are in the race for the best actor and the best actress categories respectively.
