Big win for Omotoso’s The Ghost and The House of Truth at AFRIFF

The engaging new film by award-winning director, Akin Omotoso, The Ghost and the House of Truth, won big after it closed this year’s edition of the African International Film Festival (AFRIFF).

The engaging new film by award-winning director, Akin Omotoso, The Ghost and the House of Truth, won big after it closed this year’s edition of the African International Film Festival (AFRIFF).

The film, which has the signature of actress and producer, Ego Boyo, as Executive Producer, premiered to an outstanding number of film lovers, enthusiasts, students and supporters of the art.

In attendance at FilmHouse Cinemas at Landmark, where the premiere held, were the First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. Inijoke Sanwo-Olu, and dignitaries from the American, British and German Consulates, as well as several Nollywood personalities.

At the award ceremony held to close AFRIFF, the movie, which is the sixth film from the stable of Boyo’s ‘Temple Production’ and the second collaborative work with Omotoso, the first being the silent film, A Hotel Called Memory, won three coveted AFRIFF Globe awards- “Best Actress” (Kate Henshaw), “Best Director” and “Best Nigerian Film.”

The movie has a line-up of actors, including Henshaw, Fabian Oloyede and Kemi ‘Lala’ Akindoju.

The Ghost and the House of Truth opens at the cinema across Nigeria since yesterday.
