Nairobi, Lagos, Capetown To Host Google UX Masterclass 2015

DESIGNERS from the Google’s UX team will be visiting Sub-Saharan Africa to conduct a hands-on user experience masterclasses in Nairobi from April 27 to 28; in Lagos from May 1 to 2; and in Capetown from May 5 to 6. Application for participation closes on April 4.

The masterclass will be conducted in collaboration with Deloitte Digital (Cape Town), the iHub (Nairobi) and the Co Creation Hub (Lagos). The event will be conducted in two sessions and is designed to help entrepreneurs understand their target market and customise their website or application suitably.

The first day of the masterclass will focus on new product teams with regards to understanding your users, crystallising your product vision, idea generation and paper prototyping and planning your next steps from designs to launch.

The second day of the event will be for post launch product teams. The areas to be covered are designed to enable them effectively use UX in their next product launch. This includes understanding users, identifying improvements for your product, iterating on designs and planning your next steps, launching improvements and measuring success.

Speakers include Masumi Matsumoto, a user experience designer and researcher at Google in Zurich, Switzerland; Blaine Billingsley, a user experience designer on Inbox by Gmail, Google’s new approach to email.

Over the two days, the participants of the masterclass will be exposed to a practical introduction to what UX is all about and also how to work the basics of user experience design into their product development cycle.
