Chocolate City City Music signee, Noon Dave, is kicking off the year on a confident note with the release of his toxic love anthem dubbed, Hilary.

Noon Dave had quite a great run with the release of his debut single, Brunch, which garnered over 1 Million streams since its release under his recording deal with the entertainment powerhouse, Chocolate City. As a follow-through to his emphasis on sonic dexterity, the singer is back and switching things up with his first single of 2023 Hilary, to create his mark in the music scene.

On Hilary, a track which is a bop on instant listen, Noon Dave creates a feel-good song with catchy rhythm flows that ultimately tells the story of a sort of toxic entanglement which he has found himself in, but is now running away from.

Produced by godOmarr, the song is an obvious follow-through to refining his sound and leaning towards Afro-pop sound, Noon Dave creates a storytelling track to mirror the lives of listeners, evoking feelings while still getting them on their feet, with the constant chanting of the catchy line “Hilary Way” to emphasise his thoughts.

Speaking on this single, Noon Dave tells Weekend Beats, “Hilary represents my Afro-pop side that i’m trying to show everyone, at this same time I also want to retain that emotional lovely guy that I am.”

In a perfect display of his musical growth since his unveiling, Hilary is that perfect starter to showcase Noon Dave as an emerging party King with sugarcoated lyrics and swiftly ridden bouncy production.

Noon Dave, born David Obafemi, started writing music at an early stage. The Ogun State indigene spent most of his childhood in Lagos state, Nigeria and developed most of his influences in the state. Alumni of Peter Kings College of Music, he taps into his songwriting inspiration from a diverse exposure of soaking up elements of Soul, R&B, Pop, Reggae, and Afrobeats. In 2022, he bagged a deal with Chocolate City Music as a recording and performing artiste.
Hilary is out across music streaming services.
