Making a name for himself as an entertainment and media guru, Dayo Adeneye, now turned politician, has veered towards the youths.

Popularly known as D1, Dayo recently celebrated his 57th birthday with public school children in Ogun State.

Born on March 23, 1960, D1, who previously was in the thick of Nigerian entertainment, shared a picture of him being surrounded by students.

“So, I spent the better part of my birthday with children from various schools in Ogun state,” said D1.

He added: “The smiles on their faces was priceless. They made my day.”

D1 and Kenny were the brains behind Primetime Entertainment and Kennis Music, which revolutionised Nigerian music scene.

In 2014, D1 delved into politics and aimed to represent Odogbolu State Constituency at the House of Assembly, but lost at the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary.

He was later compensated with an appointment as a commissioner in the cabinet of Governor Ibikunle Amosun.
