Drama, intrigues in Big Brother Naija house
• Erica Disqualified
• I Wasn’t Surprised By My Eviction – Lucy
• Trickytee Wins Head Of House, Picks Laycon As Deputy
• Prince, Dorothy Kidwaya, Ozo Up For Eviction
Any keen follower of the ongoing Big Brother Naija Lockdown edition would easily tell you that things are getting hotter in the house. As against the slow start, the popular reality TV show is now full of intense drama and intrigues. For viewers, it’s now a case of, “what’s Biggy up to this time?”
Already, Erica has been disqualified from the show following multiple infringements of Big Brother’s rules, which earned her a third strike. Big Brother announced the disqualification on Sunday, September 6, 2020, after playing several clips of Erica clearly breaking the rules for the housemates and viewers to see.
On Saturday night after the weekly party, Erica had gone on a tirade hurling insults at and goading fellow housemate Laycon who she had accused of lying against her. The tirade went on for hours in spite of interventions by other housemates.
And it didn’t end there. Erica, who was the Head of House this week, went on to kick her deputy HoH, Prince out of the Head of House lounge for refusing to take her side in her dispute with Laycon. She poured water on Prince’s side of the bed to prevent him from sleeping there.
Last but certainly not the least, she peeked into the production room – an action which is greatly frowned upon by Big Brother as any sort of interaction with the production crew by the housemates is prohibited.
Before now, Erica had received two strikes: one for whispering and the other for disrespecting Big Brother by flicking her middle finger at the camera. And as has been the rule in the Big Brother Naija game, three strikes automatically earn a housemate a disqualification from the game. The disqualification makes Erica the first housemate to be disqualified from the Big Brother Naija Lockdown house.
Meanwhile, Lucy became the 10th housemate to be evicted from the show. Following her exit from the house, Lucy was welcomed by members of the media, to spill the tea, describe her experience in the house, and share her next move with her fans, courtesy Betway, headline sponsor of BBNaija Lockdown.
The Saturday night parties in the Big Brother house were a fan favourite, as the housemates usually showed up ready to let loose and have a good time. Recently, Lucy and Neo had been seen having a good time at these parties, dancing together to their heart’s content. This led to speculations on social media. When asked about this on the Beat FM Morning Rush, she laughed it off, by saying “It was never more than just dance with Neo.”
Lucy, who had a reputation for being a stickler to the rules, and being vocal about her opinions, explained that she was only being real.
“I know I’m trouble, but the good kind of trouble. Everybody was always so packaged,” she said.
One of the first few friends Lucy made in the house was Ka3na, who also had a lot of personalities, and though she didn’t spend a long time in the house, already made an impact on the housemates. Lucy confirmed that she had been in touch with Ka3na since leaving the house and looks forward to meeting up with her and catching up.
When asked about relationships in the house, she was hesitant to share her opinions, because according to her, she doesn’t “know what is on people’s mind,” and can only speak to what she sees.
Halfway into the competition, Lucy and Praise became close. However, their relationship could not blossom, as Praise was evicted from the house, just a week into their deepened friendship. She, however, admits that she wasn’t keen on a relationship in the house, because she wouldn’t know “what is real, until we get out of the house, so as not to be used as a part of someone’s strategy.”
Lucy was asked about her many claims while in the house of not wanting to be in contact with any of the housemates once the competition is over. She confessed that those things were said, “in the heat of the moment”.
She admitted to being hot-tempered and saying things she didn’t mean a lot of times, but that she definitely looks forward to seeing her fellow housemates again.
She admits to the house being tough, because, “you don’t know what you’re doing, that’s right or wrong, and there’s no one to correct you.”
Also living in a place that had so many rules took its toll on everyone. She said, “I need a holiday,” when asked about how she feels about leaving the house.
On her eviction, Lucy told Naija FM, “I was not surprised about my eviction. Some people saw me as a threat.” But now that she’s no longer in the competition, she’s rooting for Tricky Tee, who she describes as a “lucky guy.”
Now that Lucy is out, she hopes to continue her grill restaurant business and expand it beyond just cooking. However, she describes cooking, as a passion for her, so whatever she does will be related to cooking.
Last week, fans saw Biggie re-introduce the nomination process from the previous season. All 9 housemates had to nominate two of their fellow housemates up for possible eviction. This resulted in Prince receiving the highest number of nominations with 6 votes, Dorothy followed behind with 4 votes, Kiddwaya with 3 votes, Ozo with 2 votes, and Neo, Nengi, and Vee with 1 vote each. This makes Prince, Dorothy Kiddwaya, and Ozo the final housemates up for possible eviction tomorrow.
Prior to the nominations, in a shocking turn of events, Trikytee became the eighth Head of House (HoH) for the BBNaija Lockdown season. The HoH game this Monday was one of a kind. For the first time ever, five housemates: Dorathy, Trikytee, Vee, Neo, and Ozo, got to the end of the board.
Biggie announced that the five housemates had to play the game again within 50 seconds and the housemate who goes the furthest becomes the HoH for the week. In a stroke of luck, Trikytee emerged the winner of the HoH game.
Switching up the rules, Biggie mentioned Trikytee did not have to pick someone of the opposite sex to be the Deputy Head of House (DhoH). After a minute of deliberation, he chose Laycon as the new DHoH.
Trikytee and Laycon were ecstatic as they have never won the HoH or DHoH position before and they were spared from the nominations and possible eviction this week. Since their emergence as HoH and DHoH, both men have turned the HoH Lounge into a comedy room; you can’t help but laugh at their ‘Tom & Jerry’ display.
