Erigga exits Empire Emirates, launches own label
The Headies-nominated made the announcement in a letter to the chief executive officer of Emirate Records, which was also posted via his social media handle, @eriggapaperboi.
“I would personally like to appreciate all the hard work and diligent effort that you have put into making my career project from inception what it is today. It was your persistent support, understanding, and resource that have given me the fruitful result eventually.
“On behalf of myself, family, and everyone else that stuck with me through the thick and thin, I shout thank you heartily for the endless support for the five years. We are appreciative of all.
“As one of the major names from the South South/Niger Delta region, together we have led, embarked, and executed major projects that ultimately shined lights on me and my career. Understand and know that I value your contributions to bring a part of my dreams to fruition.
“I’m grateful to have had you at my corner this many years and I will forever be a part of the Emirates Records family. I hope to see the company and its people grow continuously. That’s my prayer for the CEO and the company that housed, helped, shot me to the limelight.
“However, just as a chapter closes behind, another opens up ahead. Hence, it is with joy and pleasure to announce my new home, my initiative that will henceforth house everything and anything that has to do with the Erigga brand.
“Gentlemen and women of the public, I usher to my record label, ATTW, an acronym that stands for Area To The World INC.”
It would be recalled that the 34-year old rapper, in the past five years with Emirate Records, has gone from a talented Warri rapper to releasing six bodies of work, with two Headies nominations in 2012 and 2019.
Earlier in the year, Erigga released Before The Chaos EP, a precursor to his album.
