Etcetera returns with No Virgin In America
Alternative music act Etcetera Ejikeme is back with a new single, No Virgin In America. The talented multi instrumentalist, who ruffled feathers with his criticism of fellow entertainers and the government, released the track in the United States, where he currently lives.
Etcetera allegedly moved to the United States as a result of incessant death threats he was getting over his constant criticizing of the present government in the rundown to the 2015 election.
Etcetera’s new track talks about the hypocrisy of the American system where the society preaches good rules on one hand and also encourages promiscuity from the other. He pointed out how American currency with “In God we Trust” written boldly on it, is being used to spread chaos in different parts of the world.
“A country, which boast of a beautiful statue of liberty, has deprived a section of its citizenry the liberty to vote. Living in the United States for just over two years has opened my eyes to the hypocrite that the United States is,” he said.
In the song, he backs his honeyed voice with multilayered harmonies of piano, guitar and occasional string section. You might be lifted or disturbed, but you won’t be left unmoved.
With the new single, it seems the one time X3M Music artiste is gearing up for the release of a new album, which will be a follow up to his last release, “Yes I’m”, which featured tracks such as Ascent of Silence and other hits.
