Facelift With Painting
PAINTING is a fast way to improve the look of a home. Applying a fresh coat of paint will instantly transform the building or living space from dull to exciting one. Apart from its aesthetic value, painting is a form of protection for walls.
However, painting on the exterior walls of houses is subject to wetting from rain and dew. It is not out of place to see outside walls shedding the paint that was applied not in the distant past or experiencing discoloration. The places that are exposed to the highest degree of sunshine and rain deteriorate faster.
The result is that homeowners re-paint the exterior of their homes only to discover that the new paint does not last. But some precautions will make wall paint last longer even during rainy seasons and help keep the home in the rightful character that adds colour to living.
For long-lasting painted wall, the surface must be clean and dry before the work is begun. The wall has to be properly cleaned and the use of stabiliser achieves this best. There are various well-known products which can be applied like a coat of paint prior t applying the actual paint. For a house that has been painted before, first remove all the traces of loose paint with a stiff brush.
Take note that tree branches and other vegetation that come in contact with the house or overhanging the roof should be removed as they are leading causes of house paint discoloration and mildew growth. There should be replacement or repair of any damaged side trim.
