Elyon, your brand Elexiay has been making waves in the fashion industry. Could you share the inspiration behind starting Elexiay?
The inspiration for Elexiay stemmed from a desire to redefine perceptions of crochet and knitwear. I wanted to blend traditional techniques with contemporary designs, showcasing the richness of our Nigerian heritage while creating pieces that resonate globally.
Recently, Elexiay had the opportunity to collaborate with John Legend during his performance at the Global Citizen’s Move Afrika concert in Lagos. How did this collaboration come about?
It was an incredible experience. Our commitment to intricate craftsmanship and unique designs caught the attention of John Legend’s styling team. They felt that Elexiay’s aesthetic would complement the vibrant energy of the concert, leading to this collaboration.
What was the significance of this collaboration for you and your brand?
