It is time to loosen up and go soft with your choice of outfits and colours, as the rains abate, paving way for what seems like escalated hot weather.
You don’t want to go all uptight in thick and dark colour fabric when the weather is firing up. You need to breathe, and the only way to achieve this is to dress in lightweight fabric outfits that allow air to penetrate your skin such as natural fibre fabrics, cotton, linen and silk. This is because lightweight fabrics allow air circulation and light coloured fabrics reflect light and heat.
 
Women
Flowing gowns, long or short, with loose fittings are usually the best bet for women. However, if you prefer to do trousers, palazzos allow free flow of air into your skin. Another option would be off shoulder and tube dresses, but of course with lightweight and bright colour fabrics.
 
Men
For a corporate outfit, a light colour cotton fabric shirt and flexible trousers would be breathable. You may want to do away with tuxedos. However, if you feel the need to wear a tuxedo, ensure it’s light coloured and do not button up. For informal outfits, you can simply go with a shirt and shorts.
