Rotary Club organises career talk for students

President of Rotary Club of Festac Metropolitan, Rotarian Eucharia Chanyere has said that students should be guided before they choose their future career. She said those who want to choose politics as their careers should do so to better the economy of the country.

She said this during a counseling and career talk for students of Success Module School, Festac, Lagos as part of the club’s Basic Education and Literacy programme.

Project Coordinator of the club, Rotarian Shola Adebiyi said that Rotary used to focus on public schools but there is no difference between private and public schools’ students.
“What matters is how we use our senses. Your certificate doesn’t matter at the end of the day.” He said that the club will set up an interact club in the school.

Past president of the club, Rotarian Nwaobi Henry Henas said that counselling and career talks is very important in Rotary.

“Our responsibility is to assist parents and the society by moulding the students to become better citizens and in return having a peaceful society.”

“It is very pertinent that we guide the younger minds so that they don’t derail in choosing their careers.”
