YP4T distributes food items, cash to barrack residents

Members of the Highway Police Barracks community and some other residents of Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday, were given reasons to join other Nigerians in celebrating the Christmas season by Young Professionals For Tinubu (YP4T).

The scene was agog with excitement and delirious joy, as thousands of indigent and less privileged members of the society, including widows, received cash money and food items from the group, which was the fifth edition of the yearly show of love and support.

The event, which started with a medical intervention tagged ‘BATIFIED Medical Outreach,’ saw attendees receiving medical checkups on different ailments, advises and free drugs.

Beneficiaries, who spoke to The Guardian, commended the sponsors and organisers of the event, as the event brings them hope, support and happiness each year.

The beneficiaries got bags of rice, bottles of groundnut oil and cash, The General Coordinator of YP4T, Alex Oware, said the group is not oblivious of the socio-economic challenges in the country, hence their unflinching commitment to continue to support programmes that accentuate the people-oriented agendas of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“As a group of young professionals from different walks of life, we are committed to contributing our own, to make the society better and in line with the hope agenda of the government of Nigeria, led by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“We’re not relenting. And by the grace of God, next year’s edition shall be better and bigger,” Oware said.
