Honourable Adedamola Kasunmu honoured
The Chairman, House Committee on Youth, Sports and Social Development, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Adedamola Richard Kasunmu was recently honoured with the Excellent Leaders Award by the Christian Coalition Against Corruption (CCAC) in Lagos.
Presenting the award in the lawmaker’s office, the President of the coalition, Dr. Francis Shopekan stated that the youthful lawmaker earned the award as a result of his “undeniable impact as the honourable member representing Ikeja Constituency 2; his sterling performance as the Chairman and member of various committees in the House; his commitment to good governance as well as his integrity, credibility, efficiency on the floor of the house and his uncommon leadership ability”.
Speaking further at the presentation ceremony, Dr. Shopekan who led a five-member delegation to the event said that the Christian Coalition Against Corruption had been in the forefront of the campaign against corruption in Nigeria long before the current effort by President Buhari’s administration.
He, therefore, commended the President on the current battle against corruption and enjoined all well-meaning stakeholders to join hands with government and credible organisations like the CCAC to root out corruption in Nigeria. In his acceptance speech, Kasunmu thanked the organisers not just for the award but also for their unrelenting commitment to the fight against corruption in Nigeria.
He said the economic challenges our country is current facing, is as a result of the reckless looting of our commonwealth which took place under the immediate past administration. According to the lawmaker, “the fight against corruption is a fight for our collective destinies. Hon. Kasunmu dedicated the award to the people of Ikeja Constituency 2 and the National Leader of APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whom he described as his father, mentor and role model.
