As soothing as the rainy season feels, it can become challenging and almost unlivable if extra care is not taken to maintain a spic and span home.

As soothing as the rainy season feels, it can become challenging and almost unlivable if extra care is not taken to maintain a spic and span home.

This is because the wet weather attracts pests, in their varieties, which naturally seek the warmth that only an interior can give during this season.

Bugs like cockroaches, termites, stink, spiders, ants and others are likely to seek shelter inside your home during rainy season because they do not want to be drowned by the rain hence your home becomes their survival option. This will make them do everything possible to find their way in, but only if you loose guard.

How To Keep Pest At Bay
. Absolute cleanliness – There is no shortcut to it, you just have to be intentional about keeping your home perfectly clean.

. Keep your doors firm shut – If any of your entrance doors have holes or firmness issues, it’s time to seal up the holes and fix the doors.

. Don’t retain thrashes, especially food waste in the bin as some pests like rats will come after the food.

. Disinfect and thoroughly clean your Water Closet (WC) and entire bathroom regularly as some pests like cockroaches find their way in through this part of the house. Also keep the water closet covered when it’s not in use.

. Get rid of wet clothes

. Keep your home dry by mopping regularly

. Get rid of bad rainy smell – a humidifier and diffuser would balance your atmosphere perfectly
. Disinfect the floor

. Clean the washroom

. Clean your garden.
