King David: When it comes to collaboration, I let the spirit lead me

King David

For King David The Great, a popular Nigerian-UK-based Entertainer; there are certain conditions that he often looks out for before he would consider having a musical collaboration with any artiste in Nigeria or abroad.

The Oyo State native who has continued to make Nigeria proud overseers in a recent interview stated, “There has to be a connection on some kind of level. I mean, there should be a vibe before I can collaborate with an artiste. Music is a spiritual thing; you get the best collaborations when the souls connect to the music. So, I let the spirit lead me when it comes to collaboration.”

He continued: “So far, I have worked with few names like Akon, Lil Wayne, Kaleen, Jada kiss, Stone bwoy, Siszla konlanji, 2face Idibia, and the list goes on and on, but as a song ghostwriter, in the future, a few names and songs written will be mentioned as we have a nondisclosure agreement for most of them.”

The versatile entertainer whose real name is David Agboola is also the CEO of RTMG (Royalty Timeless Music Group). He further disclosed his plans to relocate to Nigeria to likely join politics.

King David avowed that has a good sense of what he would do if he found himself in a political position in Nigeria.

“What will be done are many, but just to name a few, things such as free health care, security, constant light, clean road, jobs, will be a major focus for me, ” he said, pointing out that he would work to ensure that the country’s currency becomes one of the strongest in the world.

“I am very passionate about the development of our people and the country, but for now, we must let those who are there now do their jobs, and when it’s our turn go and vote and let’s fix Nigeria together,” he stated.

For him, the year 2021 is a defining moment in his career as a creative person, adding, “this year 2021 has been one of those years of growing and understanding the industry which is growing at a fast pace, with new sounds merging and new artistes emerging.
So far, the developments of this year are giving me the time to perfect the sound and structure our movements, to know our direction and purpose for music in Africa as a whole,” King David said.
