Singer Olayiwola Kokumo popularly known as Koker is out with his latest single, Give Them. The new track, according to Chocolate City artiste, is borne out of the fact that in life, there are things you don’t want to do but you end up doing them.

“Then you have to live with it, make peace with your past and learn from it. But then I had to put this up in a fun way so that it can be enjoyed. My personal experiences, lifestyle and environment inspire me. My songs are Afrocentric and I basically stand for versatility which is evident in my songs,” the songwriter said.

The Theatre Arts graduate from the University of Lagos says he has always enjoyed music, having recorded his first song in JSS 3 with the support of his parents.

“Some of my major milestones while doing music in school were the Eko Sports Festival, Lagos Carnival and the Unilag at 50 theme songs. Ever since then, I took music seriously; I had to sell my bed space in first year and squatted to have studio sessions. Though I also missed lectures, which I do not advise anyone to do, the only thing I didn’t do was using my school fees to do music.”

He added, “Education is key and I would advise everyone to get an education before venturing into anything they are passionate about. I thank God too that today, all that it is paying off,” he said.

On his album, he said, “We are working on dropping an album although I am interested in ensuring that I drop singles that meets the demand of my audience.”
