The 4K OLED TV that is as thick as four credit cards has shown that LG will stop at nothing to make its consumers enjoy the best of revolutionary technology.

Produced to lunch viewers into the next generation of television, the smart TV, which comes with bendable screen prototypes, as well as OLED displays for monitors and mobile phones, will no means change home entertainment across the globe. At the CES presentation, the smart TV won recognition and found its way on to many best-in-show lists.

Commenting on the product, General Manager, Home Entertainment Division, LG Electronics West Africa Operations, Mr. Steve Ryu said: “We are fully committed to bringing next generation technologies to the Nigerian market. The advanced ultra-thin depth of 4.3mm comes with a unique curved design, which represents a new era in home entertainment. Its IMAX-like curvature guarantees amazingly immersive and comfortable viewing experience.”

Ryu disclosed that despite the advent of 3D movies, bigger screens, 4D motion seating and ultra-premium cinemas, the traditional movie theatre has been under threat from increasingly popular streaming services like Netflix and Hulu. He added that critically-acclaimed shows like Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad have convinced viewers across the world that what is on in their living room is just as exciting as whatever is showing at the theatre.

He observed that the rise in quality of television content has ushered in what critics have called, ‘The Golden Age of Television, saying the explosion in the popularity of television as a medium for storytelling can be tied to the interactive power of smart TVs, as well as in the recent strides in image rendering technology that allows picture quality to increase exponentially.

The stylish, ultra slim design TVs, apart from offering appreciable benefits to consumers, where space is an issue have almost entirely eliminated bezels, allowing the television to blend seamlessly with any interior décor.
