With love, Kyrian ‘Honest’ Nnanna aims to change the world

In recent time, Nigerian music has gained acclaimed across the world with the Afrobeat, championed by a new generation of musicians, aiding people from other cultures to be better understand our people.

Recently, a young talented artiste based in Asaba, Delta State, Kyrian Nnanna, has joined the league of talented musicians spreading the Nigerian story across the world with a blend of rhythm encompassing afropop and highlife.

Better known as Honest, the 32-year-old Awo Omama, Imo State indigene has been a regular staple in the Anambra, Delta and Edo states music circle, with some of his songs already making waves in the South East and South South regions.

With seven songs already done and an album in the making, Honest told The Guardian during the week that he is into music to try to make the society better.

Speaking on his career so far, he said that music has always been part of his life, explaining, “what prompted me to go into music is the love I have for singing right from my childhood years.”

The young man said listening to the sounds from his father’s turntable while growing up contributed to his love for the arts, adding: “When I got to the age of five years, my mother enrolled me in our church (Catholic) choir and from that young age, I started participating actively in every singing competition that the choir went for.”

He said that the “absolute peace music brings” also contribute to his decision to become a professional musician after his secondary school education.

He said: “I have six songs and I am still compiling others to make up an album.
