Marvee’s Playground collections heralds bold, beautiful femininity
Ofcourse the Lagos Fashion Week (LFW) 2023 curtain stood still until House of Marvee presented its Spring/Summer ’24 Capsule collection “Playground” last Sunday in an exclusive curated experience that got fashion lovers and designers from every nook and cranny of Nigeria showed up to the beautifully transformed penthouse of the Pier Harbor Apartments in Victoria Island Lagos into a House of Marvee gallery.
According to the power designer and Creative Director of House of Marvee, Marvy Joma, the Playground collection was born from a place of empowerment; giving women very stylish pieces to show up beautifully for themselves while standing strong in their femininity. “Playground collection is all about embracing the uneven playing field of life, while the capsule features distinct and phenomenal pieces, each one reflecting this concept through carefully chosen fabrics, intricate beading details, and a unique color palette.”
The gallery, which allowed guests an up-close view of the elevated craftsmanship that is fast becoming a signature of the women’s wear couture label, showcased each piece in the collection with meticulous celebration of detailing and handwork. From intricate beading to hand-woven fabric, the capsule collection was displayed beautifully by models.
Marvee’s SS ’24 Playground presentation was packed with fashion insiders like Mai Atafo, Debbie Bjuku, VeekeyJames, Derin from Isale Eko, Chioma Ikoku, Ifeoma Odoqwu, StyledbySeun, Wumi Tuase, Dipo, Adesomoo and many others.
