Mary John has been officially crowned Miss Curvy Africa Reality-TV 2021. An actor, plus-size model, entrepreneur and influencer, Mary emerged victorious in the contest that had 20 ladies from other countries, to clinch the crown. 

Held recently at the Terra Culture, Victoria Island, Lagos, the event was graced by top-notch celebrities in both the entertainment industry and fashion including Mr Damola Olatunji, Latasha Lagos, Ambassador Aju Elumelu (Chief Judge) from USA, Jadore Couture from Tanzania, Mama Ajasco Miss Oyetayo. 

The competition was, as ladies from different countries battled for the grand prize and the most talented gorgeous lady scaled through and was crowned Miss Curvy Africa Reality TV Show 2021.

Born to caring and strict Nigerian Bayelsa -state parents, Mary John attended Kingsway Primary School, Kingsway College before she gained admission to a private polytechnic where she studied Performing and Media Arts.

“After completing my education, a friend of mine called me for a movie role in 2015 and I got to play my first movie role with the likes of Chiyere Winifred, Ken Eric’s, Zubby Michael, Rita Daniels and so many more, which opened the door for my Career,” she disclosed.

Speaking at the event, the founder Mr Olamide Silver, disclosed that contestants passed through a series of auditions, while 20 qualified ladies were taken to the adventure camp. The camp was divided into two in order to interpret our rich African culture to the world.

In addition, co-founder, Miss Ibitayo Buhari, said the pageant platform appreciates African women for their natural beauty, curvy figure and charisma. “They are all unique, industrious and determined to add value to the environment and global society with projects.”

Prior to the Grand Finale, the ladies were camped at Ife Grand Resort in honour of the Ooni of Ife, HRH Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Ogwusi Ojaja II. They also had the opportunity to meet with the Ooni and celebrities like Seyi Awolowo. The ladies were there for ten days with the best hospitality and this enabled organisers to produce a lot of content around culture and tourism.
