Rainbow College seeks to promote extra-curricular education with Face Of Rainbow Contest
Rainbow College recently held the 5th edition of its annual Face of Rainbow Contest on the school’s premises at kilometer 39, Lagos-Ibadan expressway. The competition buttresses the college’s commitment to encourage students to express themselves outside of the classroom by showcasing their talents and individual skills and inspiring them to explore diversity and engage in extra-curricular activities.
23 participants from the boarding and day schools competed for the crown, exhibiting courage and skillfulness during their talent display and appearances. Peace Onyenwe and Eniola Olamijulo were announced the winners of the female and male category respectively, taking home the grand prize of One Hundred Thousand Naira each and winning features in the school’s promotional and charitable programs and projects.
Reacting, Mr. Okunubi, Principal of Rainbow College Boarding said, “Our students are constantly progressing and excelling in their extra curricular activities through hard work and continued dedication. Here, we understand the importance of academic and non-academic excellence and strive to create a balance by providing avenues for our students to explore their interests in sports music, arts and so on. We take pride in their achievements in these competitions”.
Just recently, the college’s fencing club duo, Tamara Ayamasowei and Ebuka Ibeh were selected by the Nigerian Fencing Federation to represent Nigeria at the 2017 Junior/Cadet African Championships in Abidjan and the 2017 Junior/Cadet World Championships hosted in Bulgaria.
According to Okunubi, the college has consistently and effectively continued in its quest to produce excellent and well-rounded students, adequately preparing them for global peer leadership. “Strategic extra and co-curricular activities supplement the robust academic curricular system, ensuring academic excellence whilst putting the students in the frontline of their goals and aspirations,” he said.
