Fast-rising singer, Gracious Igere, popularly known as Rollupstar, has returned with a soul-stirring love jam dubbed Island Boy.

Rollupstar, who has been soaring on the commercial success of his love jam, Heavy Duty, stretches his masterful inflections and catchy lyricism with this latest release.

Popular within the Nigerian and South African music scene, Rollupstar also recently dropped a hit dubbed Free Life, which talked about suicide and encouraged the poor and needy.

In a chat with Weekend Beats, the young singer explained that he drew his inspiration for Island Boy from his encounters with ladies.

“The inspiration came from too many experiences I got from ladies. Too many ladies want to roll with me but I realise I deserve even better as a fresh boy with swag. So, I want all the ladies in the world to know how they should spoil me with their love. If she can turn me on then she can possibly hold me down after squeezing me tight.”

With his genres of music best described as Afro pop, Reggae dancehall, R&B hip-hop with a little bit of Amapiano and a fast tempo sound, he says he likes more of fast tempo sounds. “Whenever I vibe, I always have this fire burning inside of me; the energy inside of me sometimes is too much. All I do is Roll it Up when I’m in the spirit. I must tell you music is spiritual and I sing out of experience. Through my imagination, I see beyond the eyes can see. That’s how I paint my pictures when I vibe.”

He also stated that he has an upcoming EP, which would be released later in the year. Island Boy is currently available across digital streaming platforms.
