Stars grace The Future Awards Africa 2017 nominees reception

Ahead of this year’s event, the Ford Foundation hosted nominees of The Future Awards Africa to a reception on Thursday, November 30, 2017.

Anchored by Gbenga Aborowa, the nominees’ reception is one of the activities leading up to the 2017 edition of the Awards set for Saturday, December 9, at the Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos.

Guests at the event include Peter Okoye, Ubi Franklin, Bovi, Akah Nnani, Olive Emordi, Mary Njoku, Ini Dima Okojie, Emem Ema and others.

Now in its 12th edition, The Future Awards Africa, spotlights individuals who are leading the charge and impacting their communities positively.

The event is powered by The Future Project and refreshed by 7Up with support from Ford Foundation.

The Future Awards Africa has been called the ‘Nobel Prize for Young Africans’, and the ‘most important youth awards’ by Forbes. It is a set of prizes given annually to celebrate and accelerate innovation, creativity and enterprise amongst young Africans aged 18 – 31. It has produced over 150 winners and over 1550 nominees since its first edition in 2006.

It is presented in conjunction with The Future Project, which has a mandate to build empowered citizens across Africa, through (inclusive) enterprise and (active) citizenship.
