Amaju Pinnick Vs Davido: Something’s Not Right!
Unless there is more to what we are all seeing on the surface, then we can understand the grandstanding of Afro pop star, David Adeleke aka Davido, and his refusal to refund former Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president, Amaju Pinnick’s almost $100,000 paid to him as performance fee for a concert that he eventually did not show up. Unless there is more to it!
Last weekend, Pinnick shocked the social media space when he came up with the allegation that Davido collected $94,600 from him for a concert that held on October 6 in Warri, Delta State and refused to show up. And to the shock of all, Davido’s response was that Pinnick should be careful “cos person that lives in glass house don’t throw stone.”
T4T was like, what is wrong with this young man? And then, in a series of Instagram posts, Davido, who seemed to have recovered from whatever thing that was troubling him, said he informed Pinnick and his crew that he was not going to make the show, yet they continued to use his name in promoting the event. Really? You informed the organisers that you won’t be available, yet, they still went ahead to send you approximately 72 million naira! Which kain soap you take dey baff?
“To my lovely fans in Warri that spent their hard-earned money to come out apologies that you had to experience this. I was not going to be physically able to make it and this had been communicated to ‘them’ for a longgggg, while now I mean months ago, but for reasons best known to them, they continued to promote the show using my name. It’s a shame. But especially for my fans out there, don’t worry, you know, I gotta bring Timeless to Delta State. We will do it proper, bigger and better!”
Davido, in another of his replies, said he would not refund Amaju’s money to him, because he (Amaju) is a “dream crusher”, who, according to the artiste, ‘crushed’ so many dreams of footballers during his time as NFF president and as a result, he (Davido) would pick a football charity organisation and donate the money paid him for a show (and even add some more to it) to that charity!
Wow! That is so sweet of David, son of Adeleke! He is now the self appointed modern day Robin Hood. But then, T4T needs to ask both the singer and his cheerleading crowd some questions. At what point did Davido tell Amaju Pinnick that he would not be able to make the show, yet Amaju went ahead to send him $94,600? This question is necessary, because there is a video proof where Davido announced the Warri show and urged his fans to await his appearance. Even if Amaju was Alhaji Aliko Dangote, the richest man in Africa, who does not have need for money anymore, he would decide to still gift $94,600 to someone who had emphatically told him he would not be coming to play his show? Who is telling a lie between the two parties? Another video evidence proves that Davido announced his appearance at a festival in Australia on the same October 6, so, at what point did the artiste announce his appearances for two concerts, continents apart, and on the same day and he attended the Australian concert?
Well, like T4T said earlier, there must be something Davido is holding over Amaju Pinnick that is making him to display this arrogant show of strength because this is an open and closed case of a breach of contract. In a saner society, Davido should be ready to cough out not only the $94,600 but more for the losses and embarrassment Pinnick may have suffered but here we have Davido telling the world he would even donate the money he received as performance fee to a football charity as ‘penance’ for some wrongdoing of Amaju Pinnick during his days as NFF boss. There is more to it and this looks like some form of blackmail. What is Amaju hiding that he does not want Davido to reveal? What does Davido know about Amaju that is making him so confident and arrogant?
Time will tell, but till then, to God be the glory!
O42 Vs Zubby Michael
NOLLYWOOD star, Zuby Michael, over time, made name by playing the roles of a ‘bad guy’.
He comes across as a tough guy in almost every movie you see him, but that is just in movies. His brawl with fellow actor, 042, on location that was captured on video and made its way to social media revealed that Zuby Michael is just a ‘tough guy’ in movies only. See as 042 slap slap am anyhow, you go sorry for Zubby Michael. And ironically, it was Zubby who drew first blood by slapping 042.
Bros Zubby, abeg, keep your ‘tough guy’ act to movies ONLY. Nor dey form bad guy for outside again, you hear?
Interrogating Seun Kuti’s Panti Claim
AFROBEAT (not ‘Afrobeats’) musician, Seun Kuti, son of originator of the music genre, Fela Anikulapo, spent almost two months at the dreaded Police facility in Lagos, called Panti, for allegedly slapping a policeman on duty. That is not the news here.
Seun, some days ago, claimed that both Naira Marley and Sam Larry who are currently being detained at the same facility in connection with the death of Afro pop artiste, Mohbad, would enjoy his magnanimity while at Panti. And what is Seun’s magnanimity? The late Fela’s son claimed he singlehandedly renovated the cell he was kept and changed the toilets because the place was in a deplorable state.
T4T has been waiting for either Panti’s police spokesman or the police authorities PRO, Mr. Olumuyiwa Adejobi to debunk the claim that a civilian who spent time in detention renovated the cell of a police facility. So, what happens to the monies budgeted for things like that by the federal government of Nigeria? Oh, I forget, na Police we dey even talk about here so o. Abeg, T4T nor get dia power, small time dem fit say T4T slap police make dem carry am go Panti. But sha, thank God Seun has fixed all the toilets there and made the cell look like a five star hotel room.
