Ihaza, new generation fashion stylist climbing the ladder of fashion industry
Many have styled kings and each with his or her peculiar way of showing creativity, but for Edo State indigene stylist, Eric Ihaza, creativity and a stylist must be versatile.
Since he announced his entry into the Nigerian fashion industry, Ihaza has styled a good number of Nigerian celebrities and personalities, such as Innocent Idibia (2Baba), Falz, Don Jazzy, Mayorkun, Basket Mouth, Kaffy Bright, Wathoni, Tobi and a couple of others, Bisola, Timini, Sophie Alakija, Lala Akindoju, Seun Ajayi, and others.
At a first glance of Ihaza’s picture on his over 50,000 fans Instagram’s page, the fashion stylist/costume designer appears unassuming but a deeper look, we behold a highly talented and creative individual who has honed his craft, developed his creativity and is slowly climbing up the ladder in the fashion styling and costume designing industry.
Born 29 years ago in Lagos, Ihaza began exploring his creative side from the get-go. With an engineer as a father and a clergy mother, the stylist started public appearance in the church where he led choir members and this cultivated a sense of leadership for the young man.
He attended Mandate Private College in Lagos and subsequently the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, where he studied Agric-economics. At Abeokuta, Ihaza’s talent blossomed and his creativity took flight. The university environment provided the young stylist and designer with the needed opportunity to hone his craft, and he capitalized on it.
In the University, Ihaza coached students on fashion, anchored different award dinner Nights and also judged pageantry for three years consecutively. Ihaza’s exploits while in school earned him various accolades including Best dressed male – FUNAAB Hostel 2013, Best dressed male – Aecosa 2013, Neatest farmer of the year – Farm practice year 2015, Business Icon of the year – Aecosa 2016 and Most creative – NAAS 2016.

The highly talented creative sojourn in the fashion/costume designer industry has also seen him work with many brands in the country.
With an envious list of clientele, Smart Woman Money, the popular Netflix mini-series came calling in 2019 and Ihaza worked on the series as a fashion assistant making the job his first in production. The stylist has also worked on a couple of movies such as Gang of Lagos and Everything Scatter.
When asked about his plans for the future, Ihaza boldly stated that he is working on his brand.
