Many eminent Nigerians have been paying glowing tributes to the memory of the late chairman of Agura Hotel, Abuja, His Royal Highness (HRH), Sir Maxwell Kanu.

Many eminent Nigerians have been paying glowing tributes to the memory of the late chairman of Agura Hotel, Abuja, His Royal Highness (HRH), Sir Maxwell Kanu.

They include the Hon. Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu; the former governor of Abia State and Chief Whip of the Senate, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu; former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Anyim Pius Anyim and former Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife.

Others include the Primate of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Most Rev. Dr. Henry Ndukuba; Archbishop Leonard Kawas of World Harvest Ministries; the administrator of Villa Chapel during the Jonathan Administration, Pastor Abba Mshelia and former Minister of Aviation, Dr. Kema Chikwe, among others.

The personalities all described the deceased as a patriotic Nigerian who was honoured by the Federal Government as the Prime Developer of Abuja through his investment in Agura Hotel, the first hospitality facility in the federal capital.

As part of his burial arrangements, there will be a flag stop at the M.O. Kanu Blood Bank in Aba and at his Ochiriozuo House and also a Commendation Service at St. Michael’s Anglican Cathedral, all in Aba on Wednesday, November 24, 2021.

The remains of the late traditional ruler will be laid to rest in his palace at Arondizuogu on Friday, November 26, 2021 after a funeral service at the Cathedral Church of St. Peter, Arondizuogu Imo State.
