Chinese automaker, Jetour, has appointed W Motors as Nigerian authorised distributor.

The arrangement pairs Jetour’s expanding international portfolio with W Motors’ familiarity with local market conditions as both companies position for competition in Africa’s largest vehicle market.

The focus, according to the companies, will be on adapting vehicles to Nigerian road conditions while building a distribution and support structure that can sustain its long-term operations.

Jetour Nigeria said the partnership would rely heavily on after-sales support, spare parts availability and an organised dealer network –areas that have often defined customer confidence in the local auto sector.

The new relationship was formally unveiled in Lagos, where Jetour introduced the G700 model at its flagship showroom. The event drew attention from industry players and observers, reflecting growing interest in new automotive entrants and alternative powertrain technologies.

Jetour International Vice President, Yuan Anguo, described Nigeria as a key market in the company’s African plans. He said Jetour has increasingly globalised its research and development operations, allowing it to respond more quickly to the demands of different regions.

Yuan also revealed that a pickup model is being considered for the Nigerian market as part of the efforts to broaden the brand’s local offering.
W Motors’ Chief Executive Officer, Wadih Nasrallah, said the company had invested in a spare parts supply system and service infrastructure to support Jetour vehicles, adding that customer confidence would depend largely on consistent after-sales delivery rather than branding alone.

He also highlighted Jetour’s seven-year, unlimited mileage warranty, described as the first of its kind in the African market.
The Jetour G700 is a luxury hybrid all-terrain Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) designed for off-road performance. It is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine paired with two electric motors, producing a combined 904 horsepower and 1,135 Nm of torque, with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds.

The SUV offers a total driving range of between 800 and 1,000 kilometres, a wading depth of 900mm and seven intelligent off-road driving modes suitable for diverse terrains.

Its six-seater interior features massage seats, healthy air systems and an advanced cockpit with four-screen interaction, Snapdragon-powered voice control and seamless connectivity.

Other Jetour models to be distributed by W Motors in Nigeria include the Jetour T1, Jetour T2 and Jetour X90 Plus, among others.
