The programme, with the theme: ‘Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress’, had in attendance women representatives of other government agencies, media, importers, customs agents and freight forwarders.

Nnadi said the revenue target for the command for February 2024 was N94 billion, but for the resilience, tenacity, doggedness and determination of the female officers, it recorded N100 billion.

He said women are doing their best in moving the customs command forward and the nation’s economy at large.

“We appreciate the contributions of our female officers heading different terminals at TinCan Command. Women are the strongest advocates of economic growth not only in Nigeria but all over the world. We also recognise the role of women in the maritime industry, because this industry cannot survive without the hard work and support of women,” he stated.
