Featuring masterclasses, retail experience, a crafts village, electric street style, runway and of course, emerging trends that would most likely influence next year’s fashion, every area was covered.
Masterclass facilitators included Sir John, Roksanda Ilincic, Kim Kimble, David Au, Natalie Kingham, Law Roach, Huishan Zhang, Paula Cademartori, the Ogidi Weaving Women, Adesuwa Aighewi and Millen Magese.
This year’s street style didn’t disappoint as the alte crowd came out in full force, appearing in the edgiest, fashion-boundaries-pushing ensembles available and while we certainly approved of some, as usual, we were left confused by others.
Glitz. Glamour. Magic. Creativity, are some of the words that can describe the two-day runway show. Seventeen designers presented their new collection and attendees were left in awe as designer after designer presented. Day One featured ThreeAsFour, Odio Mimonet, Mantsho, Haus of Stone, Style Temple, Nkwo, Tzar Studio, Thula Sindi and Lezanne Viviers.
Day Two gave us Huishan Zhang, Imane Ayissi, Ituen Basi, Sukeina, Fruche, Mafi Mafi Studio 189, Lanre Da-Silva and Laquan Smith, who closed the show just like year. Worthy designers of note were Huishan Zhang, Lanre Da Silva and Laquan Smith whose collection was well appreciated by the audience.
Here are some pictures from the two-day event in case you missed the show.
