Universal Music Publishing Group, Universal Music Group’s leading, global publishing division in France, today announced the renewal of the GRAMMY Award-winning Nigerian producer, songwriter and artist Kel-P global publishing exclusive deal, in collaboration with his newly launched outfit Bully Entertainment and Jones Worldwide.
This is coming ahead of his next extended play Bully Season Vol.2, following the success of Bully Season Vol.1 presented on 24 February 2023, in collaboration with Universal Music Group flagship’s Universal Music France, Virgin Music France, and Jones Worldwide overseeing the project.
However, Jones Worldwide; Nigeria leading independent artist and label service founded by Shey Jones, manages the music affair of Kel-P, the Nigerian record producer, songwriter, and now music artist, on the global music stratosphere. The manager and the producer go far back from The Aristokrat Group where Shey Jones served as the Vice President, and Head of Artists and repertoire. Prior to his time at Aristokrat, he played a major role in the signing of Kel-P, and Ria Sean to Aristokrat Records.
Kel-P said: “Universal Music Publishing Group has always been my home away from home, as Universal Music Group in France has always been part of my career into the global region and can’t wait to begin this next chapter of my career, alongside Bully Entertainment, and Jones Worldwide sealing the deal.”
Kel-P who gained stardom shortly after producing and co-writing the Grammy nominated World Album ‘African Giant’ by Burna Boy in 2019, which elevated and earned him a major break into limelight in 2018, following the success of “On The Low” from the album. Angélique Kidjo ‘Mother Nature’ in 2021, earned him his first Grammy Award at the 64th Grammy ceremony in the Best Global Music Album category.
Making him one of the few grammy award winning producers in Africa breaking out of Nigeria, following the huge shift on the international market since Afrobeat broke into the global market.
