The bedroom is one place you can freshen its look with wallpapers. This can be done by selecting wallpaper of one’s choice and putting it on the wall, or changing an old one with a new one.

However, making the right choice can be difficult for many people. Following some points given here will be useful in overcoming the challenge.

The first thing to do is to recognise that the bedroom serves a purpose and then think about the mood you want to create. The design, therefore, should complement how you want to live. Wallpaper in bright colours and bold designs are good for complementing a vivacious spirit, and small ones if a restful picture is what is desired.

Consider colour in making choices. For instance, wallpapers in dark colours make a room appear smaller. However, it can be used in a big room.

Getting to choose the most appropriate pattern is also another important factor in arriving at the right effect you want to create. For example, vertical stripe patterns give the illusion of extra height to the ceiling while horizontal stripes can be used to achieve a wider room look. Note that wallpapers with large patterns tend to overwhelm a space and make it look smaller.

To ensure that you are at home with a particular choice, you can ask the seller for a small piece that you can put in the room and live with it for some days to see how you feel about it.
