Asake affirms prowess in Mr Money with the vibe 

Acclaimed Nigerian Afro-pop singer, Ahmed Ololade Asake, professionally known as Asake, has climaxed his marathon run of mega-hit releases with a euphoric 12-tracker debut album dubbed, Mr Money With The Vibe.

Like with the build up to the album, Asake immerses the record with his signature Afro-fusion cocktail of Amapiano and Afro Pop. The entire album blooms with an energetic tempo that tarries throughout the 30-min listen. 

Asides the slew of earlier released hits from the album – all of which peaked on national music charts such as Sungba, Sungba (Remix), Palazzo, Peace Be Unto You, and Terminator, the album contains even more hit-laden songs including Organise, Joha, Ototo, among others. As at its release, Thursday, at least three songs from the album had already peaked among the first ten positions on Apple Music’s national chart. 

On the album, Asake also taps acclaimed American rapper Russ, as well as Burna Boy, as the only collaborations. In Mr Money With The Vibe, Asake basically self adulates, making witty commentary on hustling, perseverance, and partying, in a mesh of street lingo, Fuji-toned vocals, as well as short, enjambment-style lyricism. 

After struggling to break into the mainstream music scene, Asake came up on the Afrobeats’ radar in 2020, and signed to Olamide’s YBNL label, in partnership with US heavyweight Empire in February 2022.

The young maverick is famous for having one of the most prolific career takeoffs in the last decade in Nigerian music. Mr Money With The Vibe is out across all digital platforms.
