All eyes are on Kenya, as music enthusiasts converge on the country for the highly anticipated Africa Arts Entertainments Awards (AAEA), which not only celebrates individual achievements but also serves as a platform to showcase the collective brilliance of African music.

As a testament to the continent’s rich musical heritage and its impact on the global stage, the awards celebrates the artistry and success of the brightest stars of African music including Nigerian music superstars, Davido, Burna Boy, and Wizkid, who are locking horns for the prized recognitions, as they have received the highest nominations for this year’s edition of the awards.

The Africa Arts Entertainments Awards acknowledges and celebrates the outstanding contributions and accomplishments of talented music artistes from across the African continent. Some categories of the award include Best Continental Male Artiste, Continental Artiste of the Year, Continental Album/EP of the Year, Best Continental Int’l Feature, Best Continental Afro RnB Hit, and Best Continental Afro Rap Fusion Hit, among others.

Davido leads the pack as he has been nominated in 12 categories. He is followed by Burna Boy with 10 nominations, while Wizkid was nominated in seven categories. The three artistes are competing in several categories, including the ‘Best Continental Male Artiste’ and the ‘Continental Artiste of the Year’.

Wizkid has also been nominated for the Continental Album/EP of the Year award for his project S2, in addition to recognition for his collaborative efforts and individual singles. He is also in the race for the Best Continental International Feature with Work Me Out, the Best Continental Afro RnB Hit with Money & Love, the Best Continental Afro Rap Fusion Hit with IDK, and the Best Continental Afro RnB Hit with Ebelebe.

Other artistes that got some nominations for the awards include Rema, Tems, Omah Lay, Yemi Alade, Asake, Tiwa Savage, Simi, Majeed, Lojay, Ayra Starr, and Kiz Daniel. These artistes bring their unique styles to the forefront of the awards, showcasing the vibrant diversity of African music. Their nominations underscore the global impact and influence of African artistes in the music industry today.
