Nigerian artistes, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, better known as Wizkid, and David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, have reignited their long-standing rivalry with a fresh exchange of words on social media platform, X (formerly Twitter).
 
The beef had been simmering for a while, with both artistes exchanging subtle jabs and veiled references in their songs and social media posts. The latest drama began on Tuesday morning, July 22, when Wizkid took to his page and wrote, ‘Biggest’ with the eagle emoji, seemingly declaring himself the greatest in the Nigerian music industry.
 
Shortly after, Davido fired back with a mocking response, writing, ‘For your parlour’. He then went on to post a link highlighting his career achievements, further asserting his dominance in the industry.
 
In another post, the Assurance hitmaker wrote: ‘I need cane’, a cryptic statement laced with a hint of menace and intrigue, leaving fans wondering what exactly he meant. Meanwhile, this has since stirred different interpretations from fans and followers.
  
As the back-and-forth continued, fans of both artistes weighed in on the drama, flooding the comment sections, reigniting the age-old rivalry between the two artistes. 
 
Despite the tension, both artistes have maintained silence, refusing to engage in an all-out war of words. Instead, they have opted for subtle jabs and clever wordplay, each trying to outdo the other in a battle of wits.
