As Europe’s biggest leagues return, premium, award-winning ABV lager, Goldberg, is giving fans more to cheer about with its popular ‘Back to Bar 2.0’ consumer activation, offering consumers instant airtime rewards and a chance to win N250,000 every week.
The return comes after a first edition that gave consumers more than the usual match day experience. Through the first edition, consumers received instant airtime rewards, while selected winners earned trips to the United Kingdom and Qatar to experience football beyond their local viewing centres and bars.
Speaking on ‘Back to Bar 2.0’, Senior Brand Manager, Goldberg, Nigerian Breweries Plc., Kunle Aroyehun, stated that the refreshed campaign is designed to deepen the premium beer brand’s connection with football fans who are also consumers, while bringing excitement and rewards to bars and social gatherings across the country.
“The jerseys are coming back out; weekend plans are being rearranged, and group chats are warming up again. Across Nigeria, the familiar arguments about who will win the league have already begun
“The first edition of ‘Back to Bar’ showed us how strongly consumers connected with the campaign. The response was clear: people showed up, participated, and made it a part of their experience. Seeing that success made it an easy decision to bring it back. With ‘Back to Bar 2.0’, we are building on that momentum by creating even more opportunities for consumers to come together, enjoy their time at the bars and be rewarded,” he said.
Aroyehun explained that at the heart of the activation is a simple proposition: consumers can participate, enjoy the experience and stand a chance to receive instant rewards, with the weekly cash prize, which is adding a bigger incentive to the campaign.
“With the Spanish La Liga and the English Premier League already underway, followed by another weekend of major European league action, club football is once again taking over screens and conversations around the world.
“In Nigeria, some of those conversations will inevitably end up where many of the best football moments are experienced: at the bar, surrounded by friends, rival fans, cold bottles and 90 minutes of completely unpredictable drama,” the Senior Brand Manager added.
The campaign will run from August through November this year, a period when the new football season gathers momentum and the bars across the country once again become meeting points for fans following their clubs, debating line-ups and celebrating, or recovering from, the weekend’s results.
For Goldberg and Nigerian Breweries Plc., the initiative provides an opportunity to combine entertainment, consumer engagement and rewards while reinforcing its position within Nigeria’s social and nightlife culture.
By taking the activation back to the bars, the premium lager is meeting consumers in spaces where social interaction, music, entertainment and conversation naturally converge. The instant airtime rewards provide immediate gratification, while the N250,000 weekly prize introduces an element of anticipation that can keep consumers engaged throughout the campaign.
