Afro-soul singer and entertainer, Opaluwa King Solomon, professionally known in the music world as Khingsolo, is set to release his latest music project, an Extended Play (EP), titled, Who Jah Bless.

Speaking on the project, Khingsolo said it’s in memory of his father, whose popular slogan was, “who Jah bless”. He added that the EP theme revolves round the idea of introspection, self-discovery and the search for hope in the darkest moments.

His words: “I drew inspiration for the project from my personal experiences, observations, and emotions, crafting a narrative that explores the human condition.”

On how he approached the songwriting and production process for the EP, Khingsolo added, “I approached the songwriting and production process with a focus on storytelling, using my personal experiences and emotions like I said earlier as a starting point. I experimented with different melodies, harmonies, and rhythms to create a cohesive sound.

“For the production, I worked closely with my team – the producer – to craft a warm, intimate sound that complements the emotional intensity of the lyrics. I collaborated with one of Nigeria’s finest music artiste, Chuddy K on Bartender. Working with him brought new dimension and energy to the project, allowing me to explore different sounds and styles,” he explained.

On standout tracks in the EP, and the story behind each song, Khingsolo said, “all the tracks are standout. Each song has a unique story and message, but they all share a common thread of introspection and self-discovery.”

He described his music style as a blend of African traditional soul with modern elements, creating a unique sound that’s both nostalgic and innovative, stressing that he draws inspiration from various genres, including R&B, jazz, and folk music, to craft a distinctive sound that sets him apart from other Afro‐soul artistes.
