Amid the myriad of newcomer acts in the Nigerian music scene, ManlikeJoe continues to distinguish himself with his emotive storytelling. At this time where demand is at an all-time high, ManlikeJoe continues to supply artsy music that puts his vocals on the map.

Returning with Games, a new bop featuring Niinety9, he puts his feet sturdily on the pedal to stardom.

After a hiatus that saw him return to the drawing board exploring his sound, ManlikeJoe tells a relatable tale of the modern day ‘situationships’ in Games. The groovy, easy-going tempo gives him the needed wings to soar on this record.

“Moved around Kano, Lagos and Anambra when I was way younger, but grew up in Lagos listening to Timaya, Mo Hits, 9ice, Lil Wayne, Jay Z, Drake and many more.

“Started the music journey at eight years (primary 4) playing the violin, moved on to the saxophone in my first year of high school and started recording my own music at 14. From then I’ve been working on a stand out sound and dropped my first 3 song playlist,” he tells Weekend Beats.

Games is also the official lead single off ManlikeJoe’s debut EP, scheduled to be released next year.
