The world is full of dreams. Hardly is there anyone without a dream. While some dreams do come true others never make it off the mark. But for indigenous singer, Idris Olabamiji Bashir, professionally known as 7Star Dris it appears he is coasting home to achieving his dreams. Of course, the dream was to be a music artist and viola, that has come to the past but the Warsaw, Poland-based Nigeria star still nurses another dream which he has tagged the biggest of them all!

“I wish to sell out the biggest stage in the world, have my own music institute and help the people in the world musically and financially. My biggest dream is to bring our sounds and art to the mainstream in Europe,” he said.

“I have started by organizing shows and Afro parties. We had one last weekend with special appearances with Nigerian football player Lawal Rahim and Nigeria music artist Jawon,” he added.

7Star Dris started as a music star on the fringes, basically working with other music artists as a graphics designer for about a decade and also writing songs on the side. He was living life as graphic designer for different artists and promoters until his own mojo as a songwriter and music artist came to the fore. He spent a lot of time together with them and from there he started creating content, lyrics and stories.

“My influences are creating diverse and borderless music, content and designs that are relatable to different cultures, traditions and communities,” he stated.

7Star Dris describes himself as a freestyle artist and what he means by describing himself as a freestyle artist, he explains thus, “I don’t write down most of my music until after listening to the final mix.”

Freestyle or not, 7Star Dris draws his inspiration from several sources. And the most potent of it all is his environment and his background. Furthermore his creative mind as a graphic artist contributes a lot to his creative process.

He explains, “The community I was born and grew up in has different vibes and understanding to the world I live in now. So, those transition periods and moments have many stories to write about. I also started graphics on analog, mixing colors and drawing. For some reason, it sticks to the brain. Moreover, my inspiration comes from all the deep local dialect my late mum always used when advising me about life in general.”

7Star Dris made his musical debut with a party jam single in 2013 titled “Flex” produced by him. His second effort which truly established his arrival as an artist of serious intent was another party banger “Jaiye” released in 2014. TStar Dris followed up with yet another one“Cool Jam” in 2015. His next single “Baller” came in 2019.

In addition to his personal efforts as a music artist he has been involved in making many tracks and hit singles with different artists. In this regard, he did many singles’ covers, concerts, shows and club fliers.
