
Princess Wonda, ‘Queen of Afro fusion’, rounded up her world tour in the city of London selling out the Omeara London venue on 16th October 2022. After performances in the US, Zurich and a successful media tour in Nigeria and Ghana, Princess Wonda put on an amazing show called ‘The Fantasy Fair Experience.
This was a play on words derived from her album ‘Fantasy Fair’ which threw fans in a frenzy with her debut album, ‘Fantasy Fair’ which was released in October 2021 featuring sounds across Africa including Congolese legend Awilo Longomba, 1da Banton and many more. The album also charted in the UK at #27 across all genres on iTunes.
The event was sponsored and organised by Dreamers Management which is also her management team, hosted by radio host Sougerian Queen. Princess Wonda had opening acts with various styles from Afropop to RnB, Hiphop and bashment. Opening artists included Sona, Damola Davis, Christina Matovu and many more.
Princess Wonda is the first independent Afrobeat artists in the UK to put on self-funded show which successfully sold out. The evening was full of energy and amazing responses from the crowd as well as OAPs coming to show support such as Yvethi from BBC Africa, Ms Becks from Beat FM and Megs from Riverside Radio.
Princess Wonda showed up and showed out with custom made costume, dancers to match and a powerhouse band. She performed a 1 hour set but also paid homage adding in classics and hits such as Fela Kuti’s ‘Let’s start’, ‘Lagbaja’s ‘Konko below’ and more.
The show did not lack in zeal, energy, or outstanding stage direction. It simply solidified Princess Wonda’s fan base, its growing numbers and her ability to have a crowd singing along to her hits. Known for her captivating vocal tone and her touch of African uniqueness.
The singer has become quite the sensation and it’s not surprising to see her commanding a sold-out show.
