Suspense, intrigue as Red Circle hits big screen

With tantalizing teasers and sneak peeks that help build up the hype for the release of the highly anticipated Red Circle, a thriller and suspense film about a journalist determined to uncover a significant story, and finally on big screens across the nation, there is something for everyone.

Absolutely deeper than the surface of a journalist, Fikayo Holloway, uncovering a story; Red Circle is intriguing and mind-blowing. It is set to take viewers on different turns and twists as it’s a journey on the screen on its own.

Fikayo’s affluent upbringing affords her a life of comfort and leisure, but she’s driven to forge a reputable career in journalism, a pursuit that puts her at odds with her parents, who respond with disdain and defensiveness – a reaction that hints at their own dubious dealings, which are eventually exposed.

Written by Abdul Tijani-Ahmed and co-produced by Nora Awolowo who doubles as the cinematographer, the Akay Mason directed film boasts an impressive cast, including Folu Storms (Fikayo Holloway), Lateef Adedimeji (Oshisco), Tobi Bakare (Kalu), Mike Afolarin (Gidigbo), Femi Branch (Mr Holloway), Bukky Wright (Mrs Holloway), Timini Egbuson (Mustapha), Omowumi Dada (Venita), and Mr. Macaroni, among others.

The standout element of the flick is its authentic character performances. Each actor brings their role to life with such conviction that it’s like watching real events unfold. The cast shines with standout performances from Adedimeji as Oshisco, a prominent area boy, and Afolarin as Gidigbo, bringing their characters to life. Storms masterfully navigate the rich bred journalist character’s complexities with impressive skill and nuance.
