Wizkid lists blessed as best song off made in Lagos
Debuts at No. 9 On Billboard Hot 100
Grammy-winning Afro-RnB singer, Wizkid, has moved up to the ninth position on the acclaimed Billboard Hot 100 chart with his platinum-certified record, Essence, becoming the first African artiste to ever record such a feat.
Also, in a separate interview with Rollingstone Magazine, the father-of-three also shared that the Afro-RnB Ballad, Blessed (featuring Jamaican Superstar, Damian Marley), is his best song off the widely acclaimed Made in Lagos album.
“I listen to Damian Marley a lot. I have always been a big fan. So, just meeting him in New York was written. It was a blessing to get into the studio with someone like him. I respect him so much. The beauty of that record, the whole raspiness of his voice in that intro ‘I might be rough around the edges maybe yes’, when I just heard it in the studio I went mad!” Wizkid recounted.
“As Jamaican, as Rasta, we have a strong affiliation towards the African culture. It was a honour working with Wiz,” Marley commented. Both artistes also agreed to collaborate on more musical projects in the future.
