With his Made in Lagos dropping soon, Afro-pop star and Starboy/RCA artiste, Wizkid has completed works on his first single in 2019, which he titled Joro.

“Kick back and give thanks to the one that create life. Yes Fada!! #MadeInlagos… This one is special to me,” the award-winning superstar hinted at the conclusion of his new single amidst the promotion of his Starboy Fest scheduled to hold in Manchester, London and Paris.

Northboi, the producer behind the smash hit, Soco, produced the new song that is expected to be another banger. It will be release on Sunday, June 30. Northboi hinted at the possible release date of the song with a post on his Instagram page on Wednesday, June 19, urging fans of the music star to expect the single in 10 days.

However, Wizkid is yet to give a release date to the song, which saw him teaming up with Northboi and Sam Harper for production. While Northboi had worked with Wizkid on songs that include Fever, Gucci Snake and Soco, Harper first production with him was when he featured on Goldlink album.

While fans anticipate for his first single for the year, the Holla Your Boy crooner had on June 3, posted a picture of himself and his team in a musical studio. As we wait the project, the Starboy head honcho has shared records with Skepta, Goldlink, Larry Gaaga and more.

Wizkid has been teasing his fourth studio album, Made In Lagos for the better part of 12 months. The album will be release under Starboy/RCA.

According to the afro-pop star, Made In Lagos is a direct reference to his Nigerian roots that lead straight to his Shitta (Small London), Surulere, Lagos beginnings. Fans and music enthusiasts expected the album to drop after the viral success of his single, Fever, but it didn’t.

Wizkid had on March 19, this year, in a live session hosted on his Instagram page, @wizkidayo, teased snippets to a few songs, presumably made for the upcoming album. Three months later, precisely on June 4, the singer took to his Instagram page and posted the message: “Gong” blessed me highest level of vibration! #MadeinLagos! Best I ever made. Yes Fada!”

When Wizkid teased some of the songs he’d be working on, he mentioned artistes like Burna Boy, Teni, Shaydee, STG, DJ Consequence, Chinko Ekun and a few others.

Listening to Pansa (snippet), the voice of self-proclaimed Lagos ‘Sugar Mummy’, Teni The Entertainer could be heard. Recently, Wizkid was also seen with Jamaican music legend, Damian Marley.

2018, undoubtedly was Wizkid’s year, as the Surulere singer completely dominated the airwaves. Thanks to some standout guest work on a bunch of local and international songs.
